The Center for Alaskan Coastal Studies has been bringing people the nature of Alaska since 1982. We offer educational and fascinating experiences with the natural wonders of Kachemak Bay - its marine life, wildflowers, forests, geology, and Native cultures. During the summer, we provide guided tours that leave the Homer Harbor daily for a hiking or combination hiking/kayaking tour across the Bay, guided and self-guided hikes are available daily at the Carl E. Wynn Nature Center on the bluff above Homer, overnight stays in yurts across the Bay, and tours of the "Creatures of the Dock," the marine life in the Homer Harbor. Children's and family programs are available on a weekly basis and a number of special events are scheduled. The Wynn Nature Center is open for winter recreation. During spring and fall, we host Alaskan school groups participating in unique, high-quality field trips. We are a non-profit organization dedicated to fostering responsible care of the natural world through education and stewardship, with special benefits for members. Group inquiries are welcome.
