State Campgrounds
on the Southern Kenai Peninsula

Some of the best fishing, wildlife viewing, beachcombing, boating and hiking in Alaska is available on the southern Kenai Peninsula. The state's Department of Natural Resources operates and maintains several campgrounds in the area. Fees are generally $10 per site per night and camping limit is 14 days unless otherwise noted. Facilities differ; for more information about each campground, visit www.dnr.state.ak.us/parks.

Anchor River, Mile 157 Sterling Highway. Day parking is $5. Call (907) 522-8368 or (907) 748-2553.
Coho Campground: Day use recreation and fishing.
Halibut Campground: Camping and fishing; handicap accessible campsites.
Silverking Campground: Camping and fishing.
Slidehole Campground: Camping and fishing; handicap accessible campsites, limit seven days.
Steelhead Campground: Camping and fishing.

Deep Creek. Day parking is $5; boat lauch is $5.
Deep Creek Campground: Mile 138 Sterling Highway. Camping and fishing. Camping limit 15 days.
Deep Creek North Campground: Mile 137.3 Sterling Highway. Camping and handicap accessible fishing.

Kachemak Bay State Park/State Wilderness Park. Fishing, trails, camping, limit 15 days. Accessible by water or air taxi from Homer; visit www.dnr.state.ak.us/parks/units/kbay/kbaytaxi.htm.

Ninilchik. Day parking is $5; sanitary dump station is $5.
Ninilchik Beach Campground: Mile 135.5 Sterling Highway. Fee is $10 per vehicle per night. Camping, boat launch and fishing, limit 15 days.
Ninilchik River Campground: Mile 135.2 Sterling Highway. Camping, limit 15 days.
Ninilchik Scenic Overlook: Mile 135.5 Sterling Highway. Day use and handicap accessible camping, limit 15 days.
Ninilchik View Campground: Mile 135.7 Sterling Highway. Camping, limit seven days.
